I've discussed numerous times over the years that dancehall culture and Jamaican culture as a whole is violent.
It is so easy to stereotype the whole "irie" island vibe thing with its funny clothes headbands, tams, Bob Marley stickers, incense, and the occasional white dreaded dude that won't shut the fuck up about "Jah".
The deal is though Jamaica is a violent place. Statistics say that over 500 people have been murdered in Jamaica since January. Three dancehall artists were shot in the last week.
