Capleton Mix

It is harder to sort out the crap mixes from the good ones with dancehall mainly because there is ZERO dollars in the genre and the last thing they are gonna do is spend money "pon design and tings."

So you gotta have a more "seasoned" eye for the stuff.

This Capleton mix looks the part with the atrocious cover and solid track list. If it looks like something a Korean liquor store would sell it is probably a good album.

And now you know.

Still one of my favorites on any riddim.

I never seen this album up on any blogs so I free'd it up myself.

Enjoy.

Capleton "Who Dem"

I've always been partial to this tune. I still get out of pocket when this comes on in the dance.

Metric Man

I checked my inbox and saw some tracks from someone called Metric Man. I thought it was the usual "straight to trash" music that some label wants me to plug, but I check dude's tracks on myspace and was kind of surprised to hear something that I liked.

There's some flashes of Anthony B, Chuck Fender, and a smidge of Capleton in his chat and melodies which is never a bad thing. He's got some conscious stuff too if that's your bag.

Lots of goods riddims too.

Check him out and grab the album zip below.

Capleton "Stamping Flat"

This is Capleton's reaction to "Ramping Shop". I don't think it is Kartel diss like the tag line says.

Jamaicans are obsessed with this whole "lewd" lyrics thing. Police are now giving tickets to anyone who publicly plays "daggering" tunes on public transports.
