SDTW Presents "Hooligans Club" or S.D.H.C

Ever since I blew "dafuckup" on this internet shit mad motherfuckers be sending me shit in my email and even regular mail.

Don't get me wrong I get a shit load of crap too.

My favorite emails though are when dudes just send me shit on some clowning type shit.

Things like this sent in from Eat My Shorts:

All it said was "Who the fuck wears Wu-Wear?"

It got me thinking. There are an army of assholes like myself that share my contempt of popular culture.

And with that I give you....S.D.H.C or "Super Duty Hooligans Club" if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

What is S.D.H.C?

Instead of me being the only asshole snapping pictures of fucktards or some sort of shenanigan I am hereby making all of my loyal readers into card carrying members of the Super Duty Hooligans Club.

To be a respected member you will need to submit photos/videos via email that either you or a friend took of something that needs to be clowned on, ripped on, ranted on, made fun of, or just plane old questioned.

*DO NOT send me fucking "Chocolate Rain" or some other viral bullshit claiming it is you. I will only post original stuff.

You've seen me post my own photo recon shots of:

- Utili-Kilt assholes
- Bumper sticker retards
- Weirdos
- Crazy signs
- Blatantly racist shit
- Street art fails
- Posers
- Fashion Don'ts
- Anything generally awesome

And stuff of that nature, but now I have 20,000 eyes an ears all over the world. Consider it my attempt at even the scales.

Also if anyone wants to mock a logo up for S.D.H.C that would look good as a watermark (if you dont know what that is you shouldn't bother sending in one) I will give you credit and pretend to respect you.

Ready, set, go.....

SDTW Presents Townes

I do not make it a secret that I believe Townes Van Zandt to be the best song writer of all time.

Discovering music like Townes is what makes music so good.

Wikipedia summarizes Townes pretty succinctly:

"While alive, Van Zandt was labeled as a cult musician: though he had a small and devoted fanbase, he never had a successful album or single, and even had difficulty keeping his recordings in print. In 1983, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard covered his song "Pancho and Lefty", scoring a number one hit on the Billboard country music charts. Despite achievements like these, the bulk of his life was spent touring various dive bars, often living in cheap motel rooms, backwoods cabins and on friends' couches."

In short Townes' life was dark, painful, and tragic. I like to think his songs are warnings to those who might choose to make the same choices in life he had. His tales are of hardship, women, alcohol, wandering, and death. He pretty much covers all the bases on the harder parts of life.

I decided to put together a playlist of 12 songs that I took from 5 Townes' albums. They range from acoustic to Delta blues types, but they are all Townes and all very good.

I made sure "Waitin' Around Die" was the first song you hear. It is the first song of his I heard and it was the first song Townes ever wrote. It is hauntingly appropriate considering who the man was that sang it.

Enjoy.

SDTW Presents: Dunology

Dunology is a slang system where words beginning with "S" are replaced by the letter "D".

Son = Dun (spelled "dun" instead of "don" because the latter is already a word)
Solo = Dolo

And so on. As long as the word you are changing is not already a word it will fly as a dunism.

How to use dun in everyday life situations:

Example 1:

Dun: "Ay yo dun, where'd you put my Family Matters dvd?
Dun 2: "Dun, I already told you, that dun from around the way borrowed it dun."

Example 2:

Dun: "You want fries with that, dun?"

Example 3:

Dun: "Yo dun, hand me that bottle of Pepto right there, my diarrhea be actin' up like a mug."
Dun 2: "I got you dun."
Dun: "One hundid."

Try for yourself or try for delf.

Nah mean?

When I Die I Hope You Blog About Me

Here is my response to all the death that seems to keep coming this year.

I don't profess to have any major design chops so go easy on the kid.

Proliferate it if you feel the need to.

SDTW presents "Armagideon" Mix

I was going to sleep last night and suddenly felt compelled to put together a roots/rub a dub mix for whatever reason.

Peep the track list below:

The first half is mostly roots and deejay tunes. It sort of picks up the pace after that with some rub a dub and early dancehall and ends with Gregory doing some niceness.

Put this on while stuck in bloodclot traffic and it should ease things up a bit.

SDTW presents "Big L"

The greatest rapper of all time died on February 15th in 1999. I don't want to hear any arguments about this. Big L was the best PERIOD.

For all you "L" fans I found some rare versions of some tracks and a few harder to come across songs and slapped it together in one download.

"Furious Anger" track with Shyhiem is probably the stand out, but if you already have "Lifestlylez..." and "The Big Picture" there's really no where else to turn for Big L unless you find it on the net.

Again this isn't a "greatest hits" or anything of that sort. These are just tracks and versions that you probably don't have.

Bump it.

SDTW presents "Best of Ghostface"

I put together a little tribute compilation of the "Iron Man." Not the dude in the metal suit, son! The "REAL" Iron Man a.k.a Tony Starks a.k.a Pretty Toney a.k.a the Ghostface Killah.

I've been on the Ghost train since day one. I bought "Iron Man" the day it came out in 1996. 12 years later Ghost is still making great music and is probably more relevant than ever.

He is the only member of the Clan to have not fallen off in terms of quality solo albums. Is Big Doe Rehab as good as Supreme Clientele? No, of course not, but it is however quite good when compared to the output of his contemporaries and when you consider the fact that it is his 7th full length release. Count how many rappers have more than 3 good albums? It's a small group.

Yeah, it's not that easy to do. Making this comparison between his fellow members makes that little fact even more amazing.

Allow me to elaborate:

RZA = One good solo record as Bobby Digital, still comes through on the production tip when not using guitars

GZA = One good solo record, still shows signs of brilliance on guest spots

Inspectah Deck = is better as a guest spot than as a solo artist period

U-God = Who gives a shit? I've sort of always hated on "Golden Arms" sorry...

Masta Killa = Actually had a decent solo record, but you probably don't own it

Method Man = After "Judgment Day" (which I still like) dude basically gave up making albums that we wanted to hear

Raekwon = Brilliant solo record the first time out then complete utter garbage records after that and the frustrating part is Chef delivers great verses all the time on Ghost's records and on other projects. Cuban Linx 2 is set to release at the end of the year and he claims it will change hip-hop. We'll see Rae

Cappadonna = I remember really liking some tracks on "The Pillage" when dude came out of the gate on "Ice Cream" we all thought he was going to be great. He would later go on to become a taxi driver (real talk) he has a new album out but so do New Kids On The Block

Ol' Dirty Bastard = (RIP) Great first record and so many memorable guest spots I will say that his latter work was a little too much for me and I'm not gonna front like I have some candle light vigil for dude

I combed through all of Ghost's albums listed below and even put a few jams that do not appear on any of these albums. I didn't bother to get tracks from anything outside his albums so don't tell me how there's this track on the "Juwana Man" soundtrack that is his "illest" sh*t ever cause I don't care. Tell the other 29 year old virgin, sneaker heads, that will actually care about that.

Hope you like it.

All tracks taken from the following albums:

* 1996: Ironman
* 2000: Supreme Clientele
* 2001: Bulletproof Wallets
