Bouncing to SD for the weekend to link up with the posse.

Expect a photo splurge of the purest of the pure.

Here is my vacation soundtrack:

Goods Fall/Winter Collection 08

Gotta love look books.

I think when you're friends with the "models" it is harder to take it serious. But thank goodness Goods knows how to design the basics better than most brands.

Well done gents.

Augor MSK "Billboard Liberation Artist"

Interesting video piece on graffiti artist Augor MSK and how companies erect illegal billboards with little to no consequence.

Barrington Levy "Shaolin Temple"

I think I posted up "Moonlight Lover" waaaayy back when which pretty much covers most of these tracks, but this is one of those albums that I rarely tire of.

To my knowledge Henry "Junjo" Lawes was apprenticing under Linval Thompson and started recording a string of Barrington Levy (who was about 15 years old mind you) 45's which would ultimately become "Shaolin Temple". Barrington would go on be one of the biggest names in the dance.

Enjoy.

Track Listing:

Wedding Ring
Moonlight Lover
Bounty Hunter
Skylarking
It’s Not Easy
Looking My Love
Shine Eye Girl
Shaolin Temple
Reggae Music
Collie Weed
Stray Away Girl (Extended Version) *

* I cut the last 3 tunes cause they were just versions and would make it twice as long to download.

Back In Action

I finally got my own camera again. I suppose if I bought less soft-core porn and Twizzlers I could have accomplished this feat earlier, but patience is not my strongest virtue.

Anyways, as you can see most of my subject matter is Lenox, food, and delinquency. That pretty much sums up what it is I do on the weekends. Once I get to tweaking with this camera expect some more "artsy" type photography, but until then you'll just have to suffer with whatever I feel like posting.

Enjoy.

F*ckin with Little L will get your picture on a milk carton or worse on his tee shirt.

Bottled Coke is the only way to drink.

Posted like a thumb tack.

The only two names that matter on the wall.

When Lenox doesn't land his tricks he gets a serious case of hockey temper which typically leads to him throwing his board all over the place.

We take donuts very seriously around here. Top Pot Donuts nuff said.

Lenox only drinks the finest chocolate milks.

Future meal ticket.

Fridge Pimp

Another gem from the bottomless pit of comedy that is YouTube.

Bear with the clip until he gets to the fridge and how different chicks like different drinks. After the fridge it gets sort of stale, but dude is pretty funny regardless.

Tristan Palma

* Look how serious dude's album cover is?

More rub a dub ting for the massive. If you're coming here for some rap shiz don't bother cause I'm on a dread takeover and will be for a while.

Tristan Palma comes with it on this one. Again we have all Radics on the back end, but with a man called Jah Thomas on the production tip which ain't a bad thing.

This one really conveys the whole roots to dancehall transition I've been talking about. It is worth noting because there are only so many records that do it right.

Enjoy this one because it has some heat on it.

And here we have another album cover jammie which features Tristan posing with a guitar of alll things.

Track Listing:

Innocent Man
Babylon
Give Me Your Love
Lonely Man
Got To Praise Jah Jah
Joker Smoker
Peace And Love In The Ghetto
Two Timer
Ghetto King
Lover Man
Give Me A Chance *bonus
Time So Hard *bonus
Give I Girl *bonus
Joker Smoker (12" Mix) *bonus

Fearless Vampire Killers

Things related to this movie:

- The poster artwork was done by Frank Frazetta
- Roman Polanski (director) married Sharon Tate (stars in the film)
- Charles Manson has posse kill Sharon Tate and 6 other people i.e "Helter Skleter"
- Heltah Skeltah is the name of a popular 90's hip-hop group
- Fearless Vampire Killers is the title of a Bad Brains song
- Roman Polanski would win Best Director in 2002 for "The Pianist"

Strange indeed.

Banksy Phone Booths

Oh Banksy you silly goose.

* Nicked from Wooster which they nicked from the man himself.

Graffiti: Utah

Utah is the latest graffiti artist to end up in a highly publicized court case. The funny part is I used to see her throw ups in lots of mags and books and just assumed it was a dude.

At any rate in another angry white people vs. a "scum bag tagger" we are treated to the same old rhetoric and tired ass arguments as to what the public should do with graffiti artists.

Movie Night At Unite's

I've been man handling the internet for music for years, but my movie rip game is weak. My buddy Unite finally got things going and went ahead and posted up two massive yardie movies "Babylon" and "Jammy At The Controls" for your download pleasure and I can't recommend these flicks enough. If you're into sound system culture.

Get them both here:

Party At 45 RPM

Little John

I'm not super up on Likkle John. This is the first long player of his I've come across and it is pretty damn good.

This one has Henry "Junjo" Lawes on the controls and Roots Radics on backing and it is another Channel One Studio ting.

"Let Go Me Hand" and "Why Won't You Come On" (think Keith and Tex "Tonite" riddim) are the big tunes on here in my opinion.

Run it.

Track Listing:

Give The Youth A Try
Why Won't You Come On
The More We Are Together
Tea Tar Toe
I Have Got To Go
Let Go Me Hand
Down A Yard
I Love My Mommy

Hole In One

I bet this guy felt like a "horse's ass".

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Barrington Levy

(Two different album covers for ya)

I've gotten on this "rub a dub" kick of late.

The sleeve says it was released in 1982 and it sounds like it. All of the backing is pretty much Radics and it is a Channel One joint which makes this one a no brainer.

Barrington is another singer/deejay that survived the "roots to dancehall" transition of the 80's and he is probably one of the better performers out there as far live shows go.

If you're only familiar with "Murderer" and "Here I Come" then you should definitely grab this one and listen to him in his rub a dub prime.

Run it.

Track Listing:

1. She Is The Best Girl
2. Don't Give Up
3. Sensimella
4. True Love
5. Poor Man Style
6. This Little Boy
7. Rob And Gone
8. I Can't Wait Too Long
9. Man Give Up
10. I Love, I Love You
