Persue/Bunny Kitty

ITSBUNNYKITTY

My good friend and all around style master Persue (pronounced per-sway) is always up to something big. As if being a world class graffiti writer and running one of the best skate shoe companies out (Vox) wasn't enough he's also got time to blog about it. To be honest I think he only blogs about 1/10 of the cool sh*t he's doing, but I'm not complaining.

Hurt You Bad Super Blog

HURTYOUBAD

HYB is serious. Graffiti blogs are pretty lame for the most part. They don't offer much in terms of content and a lot of them just re-post the same non sense over and over. HYB solves all of that with a nice "we don't really give a proper fuck what you think" attitude and a ton of original content from all over the world. Bookmark it.

The Boobs

The Boobs

Warning! This will become one of your guilty pleasure blogs. It's written entirely from the female perspective, but they are the type of chicks you wish were married to. I mean the entire purpose of their blog is to get their friends to put their "sweater puppets" on the web just for fun. Besides that they discuss things like theories on Lil Mama actually being Bow Wow with a wig and everything in between. Of course if you don't like things like boobs, ignorant rap, snapping on people, and tips on knocking boots, then maybe this isn't the blog for you.

Curriculum Mag

Curriculum Mag

Rogene can't be faded when it comes to San Diego skateboarding or skate blogs in general. The site is really cool and it's nice to see the homies putting down the blunt for a hot a second and doing something creative. Check the back issues for even more content.

Persue Recal Mag

A while back I was asked to write up an article for Recal Mag Online on my buddy Persue COD/SUK/Seventh Letter.

I don't consider myself a proper writer by any stretch, but I gave it a go. It was pretty tough trying to encapsulate Persue's entire career in one shot. The guy is one of the few people responsible for modern day youth culture brands and aesthetics, but you'll rarely ever find his name in the credits. That is the nature of the industry I suppose.

Check it out for yourself.

Read it HERE at Recal Mag.

BK ALL DAY

Persue: "Hey I'm doing this wall over off Washington, on the back of the art supply store."

Me: "Oh, the one with all those characters from a couple years ago?"

Persue: "Yeah that one."

Me: "Who's painting with you?"

Persue: "Um just me."

Me: "The whole wall?"

Persue: "Yup."

Me: "Dangggggggg."

You're gonna have to check Bunny Kitty Blog to see the finished beast in a few days.

Thanks to Dustin and Nick for the photos.

ITSBUNNYKITTY And Persue'

After a few years and a lot of talk Persue pronounced (per-SWAY) finally got a blog to document all his globe trotting, painting, art, and all things Bunny Kitty.

Persue has been a good friend of mine for the last few years and it is awesome to finally see him get some shine in the blog world. The man is criminally slept on mainly due to his own humility as an artist. You will not find a more humble artist of his caliber anywhere. For the most part he has chosen to remain quite and let his work do the talking.

His work on the street level hardly goes unnoticed as his resume will assert. Persue belongs to NY's C.O.D, Can 2's Stick Up Kids, Rime's The Exchange, and most recently the world famous Seventh Letter Crew.

For the last few years Persue has been developing an entire world dedicated to one character: Bunny Kitty.

Bunny Kitty is more of ever evolving story than a brand or product. Persue has created a story that he tells through stories, characters, music, toys, coloring books, stickers, skate decks, art shows, and anything else you could possibly think of.

But it is best to let him do the explaining.

BunnyKitty In China

Persue told me that he "had" to go judge some graffiti contest in China with Rime and Zeb. Oh such a burden you carry Swayzi.

Here's some of the work they've done so far. More to come I'm sure.

I've mentioned the work of Persue on here a few times recently. Truth be told he is one on of my close friends not to mention one of my idols in terms of graffiti.

He asked if I would write an intro for a recent on-line article he was asked to do and I gladly accepted. The thing is I do not consider myself to be a "writer" of the written word at least, so the task was a bit daunting.

At any rate it came off good and the Q & A with him is quite funny as well.

Persue In China

One of my favorite artists and all around favorite people Persue (COD/SUK/7th Letter) sent me these pics of him doing a live piece in China of all places.

Persue is one of the few writers that I know that can burn with letters and characters. If you've followed his work then you know you already know about his Bunny Kitty character and the cult following that follows it.
