BK ALL DAY

Persue: "Hey I'm doing this wall over off Washington, on the back of the art supply store."

Me: "Oh, the one with all those characters from a couple years ago?"

Persue: "Yeah that one."

Me: "Who's painting with you?"

Persue: "Um just me."

Me: "The whole wall?"

Persue: "Yup."

Me: "Dangggggggg."

You're gonna have to check Bunny Kitty Blog to see the finished beast in a few days.

Thanks to Dustin and Nick for the photos.

The Best of FFFFOUND

I've recently become extremely obsessed with "found" type blogs. I enjoy the fact that they are free of criticisms and opinion. By removing the written word they become open to interpretation by the viewers and take the focus away from the author.

I went through about 60 pages to create my own FFFFound image gallery. There's no cohesive theme, but I like the results.

Enjoy.

Reggae Album Art

I usually comb through album art for 5 or 10 minutes to do these posts, but this time it took only a minute total because each one one I came across was straight fyah!

Barry Brown's "Cool Pon Your Corner" just might be my new favorite dancehall album cover ever. Look at that thing. He's like a pose able rude boy action figure with the kung fu grip.

Wilfred Limonious

Wilfred Limonious is the man. I wish dude had a book or something. Sadly, I think his work will only survive on wax. His artwork is the personification dancehall and Jamaican culture.

There is no real archive of his work or any website worth while to point you to. Essentially, if you want to see his work you need to dig through crates of 80's dancehall and rub a dub and have a good eye.

I will try and post up some hi-res joints when I have some time for all of you design nerds.

Reggae Album Artwork

Every so often I get around to posting some reggae album covers that I come across. Most folks do not share my obsession with Jamaican culture and music. For whatever reason I can bug out for days on album cover artwork and photos. You can see the parallels between these album covers and some of the concepts that go into Heavy Manners whether they are conscious or sub-conscious.

By sheer coincidence look at the U-Roy album cover font (top) and the N*gger Kojak album font (bottom). Justin mocked up the typeface for Heavy Manners almost a year ago, but you come across stuff like this all the time. Although, there was some "kerning" and changes made you can see that they are one in the same.
