The Things People Will Do For Money

Gucci Mane and Talib on the same song.

Listen HERE

via Nah Right

Ha.

This is why I think it is so corny to talk that non-sense about "popular rappers are garbage" and "mcs with real lyrics need to take over" or whatever it is rap nerds argue about while taking bong hits in New Hampshire.

All rappers are equally corny save for Boosie, DMX, and a few others that are just untamable human beings. They are still corny, but also on some looney tunes shit.

What's even better is if you actually listen to the song Talib tries to sound all southern and talks a bit "harder" than normal.

Talib is a dickhead. Back in the day I really liked Blackstar and all that, but come to find out Talib as a person is a huge dickhead to work with. Also he is bald. Yup. Balder than that dude from The Shield.

Why you hating on dude so tough?

I mean dude has more going for him than I do. Dude has paper and I have to rant on this shiteous blog, but I do have a full head of hair. Go ahead and find me a picture of this dude NOT wearing a hat. Go ahead I'll wait...

Yeah.

So, I am not bald and I did not put out over 4 or 5 albums preaching about uplifting the black community and then go and hop on the Gucci band wagon just to get a Twitter bump.

Go ahead and get that money Talib. Ask your boy Common to get you some of those fly hats to wear while you preach the revolution to a bunch of suburbanites that live in freshman dorms.

RAAAAAAAAANDY - AAAAAAAANGRY Mixtape

Do yourself a favor and click this link and listen to this rant by Aziz Ansari going off on rappers that owe him verses.

Best part is when he says Drake is too busy hanging out with Justin Biber to get his verse done.

2009 Top 5 Blogs

Blogging about blogs.

Many people have been championing Twitter as the big deal of 2009. Many of you already know where I stand on the evil T, but who the fuck am I to judge?

This is SDTW's Top 5 Blogs for 2009:

#5 Nah Right

Nah Right

What can you say about Nah Right? Nothing really. To me it's the only blog about hip-hop and rap I ever really need to check. Eskay is brilliant for not proliferating his own opinions and instead just lets the music and the stans do the talking for themselves.

It's also nice not having to search for mixtapes because if you're manager or p.r team aren't dinosaurs they know getting your tape up on Nah Right is the best move you can make period.

#4 Ignored Prayers

Ignored Prayers

The purest of the pure.

I don't personally know this cat, but some people I do, do. Is that how you say that? Anyways, dude is the king of the "no fucking way" posts. He always has the fire internet shit. I could never match him.

He updates pretty consistently which is one of the my biggest pet peeves for blogs. Either do it a lot or don't. There is no in between.

#3 Dancehall Mobi

Dancehall Dot Mobi

Ya ya no one cares about dancehall except for me, but to find a blog that actually has relevant updates daily is a god send. Sorry jah send.

So much clash info and new chunes updated daily. Sometimes you get a dry spell of boring posts, but then all of a sudden BAM! you get a flick of Lisa Hype blowing Vybz Kartel and you're back to slackness.

Run it.

#2 LameBook

Lame Book

I never tire of you Lamebook. You reveal SO much of how lame social networking can be and how awesome or not awesome our species can be.

It's so post worthy I made it a regular feature on here for crying out loud.

#1 FFFFound

FFFFOUND.COm

You can waste your entire life away trolling through FFFFOUND and all its ocular goodness.

It never ceases to inspire.

Get some.

* Feel free to put your own Top 5's in the comments you bastards.

Blue Scholars on NahRight

It ain't easy being relevant in rap music without posturing and posing like an "ex" 35 year old drug king pin.

Trust me I've tried.

Blue Scholars somehow pull it off.

Peep Seattle's finest on the only hip hop blog that matters.

Gucci Over C.R.E.A.M

It's a Curtains song, but you shouldn't care about that.

I'm only posting this for Gucci's verse over the "C.R.E.A.M" instrumental.

Bump this in your Gloss Black Land Rover with the gods.

It's no secret that hip-hop/rap have become the modern day soap opera. I can't say that I don't follow it to some degree i.e 50 and Officer Rawse, but when people start talking about how this dude is hard or that dude is the hardest I tend to laugh because nobody really knows.

I came across this insightful article that seems pretty legit on some of hip hop's biggest goons and the actual street credentials cited almost like a term on paper on hardness.

My boy Uncle Murda made the list, but you should already know that.
