Josey Wales "Ruling" LP

I probably should have had this album a long time ago, but only just recently copped it.

Josey Wales was one of the few deejay that was able to clash with Yellowman and hold his own.

He came up on U-Roy's Sturgarv Sound and would go on to work for Junjo's Volcano Sound (my favorite next to Jammy's).

The Limonious artwork is kind of cool as it shows more of a shading style versus his typical color separated style.

Alborosie "Blue Movie Boo"

I'm not sure how he pulled this one off, but Alborosie (born and raised in Italy) channels his inner Buju (90's Buju mind you) for this tune.

The video isn't too bad considering dancehall videos are some of the most shiteous things ever captured on video, but you the viewer gets treated to some slack bubbling, a U-Roy cameo, weird Italian dudes showing up to the yard, and so on.

Hats off to Alborosie for pulling off the 90's dancehall hail mary.

Easyyyyyyyy!

U-Roy

When it comes to deejay all roads lead back to one man U-Roy. He wasn't the first to chat 'pon the mic, but he was the first to make it big and that's what history will remember.

This album is pretty damn classic and I'm ashamed to say that I didn't have it in my collection for a long time. Oh well.

Get familiar with one of the greatest of all time.

Both of these covers deserve a post in of themselves. Note the font on the second one. Look familiar?

King U-Roy

Ed* Classic U-Roy in his prime. Remember kids if there was no U-Roy there probably wouldn't be hip-hop.
