Johnny Clarke
Switching it up with some roots.
Random story about Johnny Clarke:
I was hanging with Unite and Half Pint of all people last year and we were talking about dancehall and the like and Half Pint told us that Johnny Clarke was the first dancehall singer ever. Coming from a "Waterhouse" legend I think it might be safe to say he was right. All of these tunes have been versioned a ton of times and exist in numerous versions. As far as I know this was Johnny's first proper album.
Also if you're wondering why the album cover has his name spelled different it is because reggae labels have ALWAYS had misspelled titles, artists, linear notes, the whole nine. I'm not sure why, but if you buy enough records you're bound to find an artist's name spelled 3 or 4 different ways.
Track Listing:
Enter Into His Gates With Praise
None Shall Escape The Judgment
Move Up Rasta Man
Jah Jah We Are Waiting Upon You
Don't Talk Too Much
If You Should Lose Me
Left With A Broken Heart
You Are My Woman
Walk Away
My Desire
Hey Girl Don't Bother Me

My buddy Aeon from Australia blazed a nice little Limonious character trackside for everyone to enjoy. These Aussie dudes aren't playin.

Sound Man Business
I just came across this dude's youtube page where he mixes a whole set of tunes from one riddim into a cohesive mix. It's really good because he gives you foundation to modern back to back so you don't get zoned out on similar versions of the riddim.
Needless to say the dude has a mean box of 45's.
