NBA Slam Dunk Contest 2010

I am a pretty big fan of the NBA.

After all it is the only sport that condones style. Hockey lets you fight, but the NBA lets you style on em.

I've always managed to catch the Slam Dunk contest every year. Even if I'm not following the league very intently that year I will still set a side time to catch the dunk contest.

The contest has actually been getting better over the last few years. Mainly because of Dwight Howard and Nate Robinson.

This last contest was a HUGE dud unfortunately.

No creativity, no props, and just nothing done that was even remotely memorable.

I am not trying to salt those involved at all. I am just saying what the announcers and the whole arena were saying that night. I thought the crowd was going to start booing half way through.

Hopefully next year they get back on point.

Also let this dude in it.

NBA Refs

Refs are like cops. Human. Prone to errors. They play favorites and show blatant bias. And unless you're a complete moron they effect the outcome of every game. Also they pretty much have the final say. Once in a blue moon a call will be overturned after a game, but that is just to further create the illusion that sports are 100% fair.

This NBA referee turnt snitch breaks it down to 60 Minutes on how shady the business of a referee really is.

I don't think these dudes are to blame entirely. The league/owners already know ALL of this. Sports are after all a business. Also this doesn't make me want to not watch sports. It is what it is.

Sports are designed and run to make money.

After watching this I quickly began to realize why Allen Iverson was always so mad all the time.

Dude never smiles and rightly so.

Watch the whole piece below.

Shawn Kemp x PeopleOfWalMart

Two forces of God collide here folks.

People Of Wal-Mart and none other than the mutha fuckin Reign Man.

Even before I became a resident of Seattle I whole heartedly supported any and everything this dude was involved in.

I had Reebok Kamikazes, I used to play the Sonics in NBA Jam, I had a wicked ass school folder with dude on it. Shawn Kemp could do no wrong in my eyes back then.

Now....

Well times have changed for our friend Shawn, but let us remember the good years he gave us.

Sorry about the stupid ad in the beginning.

Save The Sonics Rally

Above: The Reign Man runs tings, tings no run the Reign Man

Monday, June 16th 4:30 p.m there will be a Sonics Rally to protest the team owner's decision to move the team to Oklahoma City. Show up on time in green and gold at 700 Stewart St. Federal Court Building.

Xavier McDaniel and Gary "The Glove" Payton will be in attendence so this ain't no p*ssy ass rally ya dig? You all know The Glove don't play.

They are asking to keep it respectful and positive. We'll see.

Check out Save Our Sonics for more info.

The Spurs

Was anyone else clinically depressed after seeing the Spurs beat the Hornets last night?

I'm not a big Hornets fan although, I will say I've really enjoyed watching them in the playoffs, but do we really need to have the Spurs in another Finals. I know, I know they may lose to the Lakers, but think about this:

If the Lakers lose and the Celtics lose which is obviously the worst case scenario for the media and the NBA as a whole we will have the torture of having to witness the Spurs versus the Pistons. I would rather watch grass grow personally.

The Pistons are by no means as boring as the Spurs with their "core" values and strict adherence to "fundamentals", but I bet dollars to to donuts (love that phrase btw) that ratings will plummet if that is the line up for the Finals.

Now if we get Lakers versus Celtics I am going to enjoy the media hype overload for that all the way to the end.

P.S If I was wrong then how come I can Google "Spurs Suck" and that logo pops up? Oh that's no biggie its not like someone took the time to photoshop the word "sucks" into the Spurs logo or anything.

Sonics Staying Seattle?

Above: The X-Man

An interesting turn in the never ending Sonics relocation case.

Apparently, these emails described in this article indicate that Clay Bennett (Sonics owner) lied to the NBA and the city about moving the team to Oklahoma.

This could change the entire case when it goes to trial in June.

Hopefully, we can keep the Sonics here and David Stern can kindly go "fornicate" himself for being a greedy little troll.

Having to suffer another lame duck season would just be torture. The Sups aren't even that bad considering the fact that Clay Bennett purposely ditched Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis last year and left Kevin Durant to fend for himself.

I live 8 blocks away from Key Arena. It only costs me $10 to get in the door and after the 1st quarter I move down to the good seats. It is the best damn sports routine I will ever be given. If they take that away from me having already grown up in city that didn't have an NBA team (San Diego) I will be quite pissed.

NBA/Sonics' owners lying

Ed* Also would it be too much to ask if we can to throw Carlesimo out on his ass and make Detlef the head coach?

Heil Detlef!
